Idler Drive Record Player. Incredibly Rare Opportunity to own an unused 1950/60’s turntable. Still got it’s transport screws in place. One rubber mat has perished with age but a second one kept in polythene is like new. Tested with 110v and the motor runs powerfully and quietly. It has a heavy Cast Iron Chassis so probably kicks the arse of a Garrard in terms of structural vibration. It has an Eddy Current Brake (Like Garrard 301/401 to set speed correctly). The bearing feels tight and smooth though smaller than a Garrard. The motor is powerful and platter light so a different kind of physics. I would have built it up but don’t have access to CNC equipment right now. This is for AC mains running at 60Hz or 60 cps Countries so will be at the wrong speed on UK 50Hz. For UK use would need a 100 volt step-down transformer & either a new 50 Hz Pulley or an electronic PSU or inverter running at 60Hz.
